Cervical Spondylosis

This is a degenerative disc disease that affects the neck, and it is more common as people age.

For patients with this disease, the soft discs that provide cushioning between the vertebrae get compressed. It often leads to wear and tear of the protective vertebrae cartilages, and after the cartilage wears off completely, bone spurs might form, compressing the nerves.

Symptoms

  • A popping noise during neck motion
  • A feeling of weakness in the limbs
  • Numbness or tingling in the hands, shoulders, and arms
  • Challenges in bowel and bladder control
  • Headaches, neck pain, and stiffness
  • Lumbar Spondylosis

In general terms, lumbar Spondylosis characterizes the degenerative conditions that affect the lumbar vertebral system, including the joints and discs. In other words, this condition encompasses numerous issues such as degenerative spondylolisthesis, spinal stenosis, and osteoarthritis.

Symptoms

With the numerous pathologies involved, the symptoms of lumbar Spondylosis are extensive.

  • The formation of osteophytes or bony overgrowths that can lead to significant pain is one symptom.
  • Stiffness in the joint is another sign, and depending on the severity, it can even hinder movement.
  • Neurologic claudication that includes pain in the legs and the lower back
  • When walking or standing, patients often experience numbness.

Thoracic Spondylosis

This condition has similarities to arthritis of the spine. Here, there is degeneration of the vertebral discs and joints. Any changes that occur in the middle/center of your spine can be characterized as thoracic Spondylosis.

Symptoms

The most common signs experienced by thoracic Spondylosis patients include:

  • Stress and anxiety
